Leviton announced a partnership with Make It Right in an effort to build healthy and sustainable homes and buildings for residents in areas of need, including New Orleans and Kansas City. Through product donations and financial contributions, Leviton aims to advance Make It Right’s vision of “people around the world living in healthy communities and affordable, high-quality, environmentally sustainable homes.”

“Building this relationship with Make It Right is a perfect fit for Leviton, as it aligns with our brand purpose of helping families and supporting communities with energy efficient solutions,” said Daryoush Larizadeh, Leviton’s Chief Operating Officer. “Through our partnership, Leviton will be able to see communities grow while providing a deeper understanding of how our products help to make buildings safe, efficient and sustainable.

As part of its partnership with Make it Right, Leviton is donating a variety of its smart solutions, including Universal Dimmers, occupancy sensors and GFCI and AFCI receptacles among others, which will help homeowners achieve savings in energy and enhance safety. To further expand the partnership, Leviton’s Mr. Larizadeh will serve on the Make It Right board of advisors, providing strategic guidance and input from years of industry experience.

Most recently, Leviton joined Make it Right’s efforts in Kansas City, supporting the redevelopment of the historic Bancroft School which provides affordable housing for 150 residents and community resources featuring an auditorium, gymnasium, technology lab, job training center, medical clinic and community gardens. Access to these resources will be available to all residents of the neighborhood, resulting in a healthier, safer community. On November 9, Make It Right celebrated the completion of the redevelopment with a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome the first residents.

Make It Right was founded in 2007 by Brad Pitt after he visited New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward two years after Hurricane Katrina and witnessed the lack of rebuilding progress. Through innovative partnerships and community-led design sessions, Make It Right is working in neighborhoods across the country and educating others to change the way buildings are designed and built.
