Pilbara Minerals (ASX: PLS) is progressing development of its recently acquired Tabba Tabba Tantalum Project in Western Australia's Pilbara region after upgrading 79% of its Inferred Resource to the Measured and Indicated categories.
The total updated Resource totals 213,000 tonnes grading 1,220ppm Ta2O5, or 572,000 pounds of contained Ta2O5.
Of this, the Measured Resource is 30,100 tonnes at 1,610ppm Ta2O5, or 106,960 pounds of Ta2O5 and an Indicated Resource of 124,400 tonnes at 1,260pp Ta2O5, or 346,040 pounds contained Ta2o5 that is available for conversion to Ore Reserves.
It also paves the way for pit optimisation studies.
Geotechnical study are now underway though the company does not expect any issues with pit stability and design.
